How will CraterWorks operate?

Central Point School District will purchase and maintain the facility as well as oversee operations. CraterWorks will be a District 6 facility but will expand our partnership with D.I.R.T. (a non-profit) to manage memberships, organize schedules, hire shop stewards or other employees and manage classes and workshops that are outside of the school day or school year. The memberships and classes outside of District 6 are intended to make CraterWorks self-sustaining through D.I.R.T. (Direct Involvement Recreation Teaching). The district is utilizing grant funding for the initial remodel and equipment purchases. Further, this project will make additional CTE and STEM funds available to the school district in the future.
