CraterWorks MakerSpace Opens May 18 2019Central Point— May 6, 2019 — CraterWorks MakerSpace (419 N Front Street, Central Point, OR) will host its grand opening on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Grand Opening Celebration will include: Live Music in the MarketSpace, tours, demonstrations, food and beverages and discounts on community memberships. “This amazing project involved the renovation of the existing and iconic iron works building in Central Point on Hwy 99—the renovations are amazing and I can’t wait for the community to check it out,” Taneea Browning, managing partner. CraterWorks MakerSpace’s commitment to meeting the needs of its community members, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, individuals and students will showcase their public, non-profit partnership between Central Point School District 6 and Direct Involvement Recreation Teaching, D.I.R.T. on May 18, 2019. Festivities begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 am, followed by live music, healthy food options sponsored by Providence Medical Group, and local artisans at the Saturday MarketPlace. The open house continues until noon, and public tours will be scheduled throughout the afternoon. CraterWorks is open to the public through community classes, punch-card access and membership. Industry is invited into the space along with master crafters, novices and students of all disciplines. CraterWorks supplies tools, equipment and technology to design, prototype and manufacture virtually anything.
